Within the New Pentecost

Before going on with the charisms, let us see the "fruits of the Holy Spirit" to understand better the riches and variety of the works of the Holy Spirit in the Church. Saint Paul speaks of the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5, 22 : "The fruit of the Spirit is charity, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."

The fruits are the the tasteful and fruitful fullness that is produced by a living being reaching its maturity.The fruit of the Spirit is the maturity of the grace and divine love in all the behaviour of the spiritual man who let himself transform by the Holy Spirit. To use another image of the Scriptures, the life of the one who welcomes the Holy Spirit is the "fragrance of Christ" (2 Co 2, 15) that spreads whoever is united to the true vine in the Holy Spirit (Jn 15, 1-17).
